Welcome from the
Van Lew Clan

2009 - A new year and new beginnings.  Baby Jenna was born on March 3, 2009.  Tom and my first grandchild born to Jason and Holly.  I have photos on my Facebook page and Jason has some on www.vanlew.net as well.  We are all very excited about this new chapter in our lives and the new roles we now assume.

Oct 1, 2008 - The cabin is complete.  We passed final inspection!  I am going to remove the cabin cam link but leave up the cabin construction time line for those of you who wish to see.  When we move in next week, I'll take more photos to share.

Sep 2008 - I RODE MINE all the way to Milwaukee for the 105th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson, the 25th Anniversary of HOG and the GRAND OPENING of the Harley-Davidson museum.  It was an awesome experience that I got to share with good friends from my chapter.  I also met some wonderful people along the way.  I will carry away from the experience the knowledge that I CAN do anything I set my mind to - even if it seems intimidating.

Unfortunately, CABINCAM took a hit and is down due to electrical issues.
I'm not sure when, if ever, I'll get it back up and running.
For current photos of the cabin, you'll have to log into the 'cabin build' tab to the left.

August 2008 - The cabin is coming along nicely.  See the Cabin Build page and cabincam for more info.  Hopefully it will be done the first of October.

July 2008 - I went to China to tour with my son for two weeks.  Check out my photo page.  We found out Holly is pregnant and I'll have my first grandchild in March of next year!

April 2008 - We broke ground on the cabin!  7 Months the builder says!!!  Hopefully we're in by Thanksgiving!!!

It's August 2007 and I've been really working hard on the "it's all about me" year.  Earlier this year I visited my brother in Washington DC and I just returned from a visit to Tom's family in upstate NY.  Tom's brother and sister-in-law and I rode motorcycles through the Adirondacks in NY, VT, NH, Maine and a quick side trip to MA.  Visit my photo pages to see some of my trip highlights.

May 2006 - It's been nearly a year since our awful motorcycle accident.  I am healed physically, although I have scars and aches that will probably never go away.  Emotionally, I am doing better.  The love of my children and my friends has helped me tremendously these past months.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Tom and some part of our lives together.

June 2006 - Tom was born in Glens Falls, New York and Jeannie was born in Sacramento, California. We met while both of us were in the Navy living near Seville, Spain. We moved to Arizona in 1978 and have been here ever since.

The summer of 2006 was one of tragedy for our family.  Tom and I were on a motorcycle vacation in Utah for a week in June.  One the day of our return, we were both involved in a tragic accident.  Tom did not come home!  I am healing, surrounded by the love of my children, brothers, sisters, father and other family and friends.

A "Celebration of Life" for Tom was held in Chandler where almost 300 people attended.  To see a memorial video put together by the kids and me, please visit tom.vanlew.net.  You can view the guestbook or have a choice to download the video or a zip file of the photos used in the video.

Tom, my love, you are GREATLY missed!

I am interested in putting together the puzzle of our family histories. Visit my genealogy site to see the surnames I am researching, favorite genealogy sites and more!

Together, Tom and I loved hiking, backpacking, camping, four-wheeling and visiting our special getaway in Forest Lakes, located in the cool pines of the Mogollon Rim. I invite you to explore some of our favorite trips in Arizona.

Tom and I traveled to the Netherlands and Germany for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2003.  While there, we visited many family members in Holland and an old high school friend who lives in Hamburg, Germany. We traveled all around Friesland, visited Veenendaal, Amsterdam, Haarlem and the Keukenhof Gardens! Our cousin also has some photos from our visit to Bolsward on their website.
